Serving at Waypoint

Waypoint’s mission is to equip people to live out the gospel where they are. We love to come alongside people wherever their heart and God’s heart converge in serving the community.

Our goal is not to guilt you into another church event, but to give you opportunities to live the Gospel daily.

Serve Teams at Waypoint

  • Basecamp’s primary goals are to: (1) Develop children’s love for Jesus, (2) Intentionally expose them to scripture and the nature of God, and (3) Empower parents to enforce messages and teaching at home

We encourage parents and other adult volunteers to consider investing their time in BaseCamp kids. While we endeavor to be an uncomplicated church, we take the protection and security of children extremely seriously. All leaders and volunteers are screened and trained in security protocols. • This is for anyone interested in investing in the lives of students at Waypoint. There are a variety of ways to serve in this group in terms of time and commitment. Please contact us for more information.

  • Romans 12:13 says, “Help needy Christians; be inventive in hospitality.” (MSG). Later in chapter 16, Paul reminds the church to welcome a friend of his and theirs “with all the generous hospitality we Christians are famous for.” (MSG)

The Hospitality Team includes greeters and donut-bringers on Sunday mornings, helping first-time visitors get comfortable and connected, and discerning hospitality needs in the Waypoint community.

  • An essential part of our church is allowing people to engaged and equipped for the journey. To do that, we must value the ways the Lord has given us to communicate with Him and each other. The Communications Team works hard to ensure our community has easy and informative access to what is happening in the life of the church and our community by helping with various platforms, including Sunday livestream, social media, and more.

  • One of the best ways to start serving at Waypoint is on our Set-up team. It takes a great team to convert the Rogers Building to BaseCamp for kids as well as set up the Chapel and Atrium for the service.

Sunday at 9:00 AM we unload boxes, set up tables, and enjoy the freshest coffee when it arrives. :) Then, at the end of services, we tear it all back down. There is some work involved, but as with any group of people serving together, there is camaraderie and connection.

  • The Meal Team steps up and provides for the physical needs of people within our community during difficult times. Whether they are celebrating the birth of their child with sleepless nights, facing the unknowns of medical treatments or grieving the loss of a loved one, this team shows up on their doorstep to let them know that the love of Christ is with them.

  • This team of dedicated people faithfully and regularly lift up the needs expressed in the Waypoint community.

There are no meetings to go to, but this serve team is for anyone who has the gift/heart for intercession.

  • The worship & arts team creatively use imagery, sound, voice, instrument, prayer, texture, lyric, design, technology, word, and song to facilitate a position of worship within our church body. While this group serve regularly on Sunday mornings, there are also opportunities throughout the week for developing skills, processes, and ideas to better create engaging & winsome spaces for worship.
