When we signed the contract with Queens for use of their Sports Complex we were notified that 9-25 they would have an event and we would have to relocate. For months the oversight team, Brad and Carrie wrestled with what should we do? Should we join with a local church for worship? Should we return to Myers Park for one Sunday? Should we try to use Symphony Park? The team then decided, let’s all go over to the area elementary school that is a Title 1 school and see how we could serve them.
Little did we know how God’s perfect timing would align for us, the school and our city.
As we celebrate the gift of our savior’s birth, are you looking for a fun way to work together with our Waypoint community to help our neighbors in need at Christmas? Let’s do it!
What is the Christmas Village Toy Store? The Stores are a collaborative effort of area churches and individuals who want to express the unconditional love of God to local families in need at Christmas. They set up temporary toy stores in three locations around town Saturday, December 12 from 8am-4pm. The stores empower at risk families to purchase Christmas gifts for their own children by receiving donations and re pricing them at greatly reduced and affordable prices for neighbors in need who are referred by agencies and churches. The stores provide a dignified and joy-filled shopping experience complete with a coffee shop and live music for these neighbors. Even families with modest means can purchase new gifts for their children at the Christmas Village Toy Store.
Volunteers stock the store shelves with the new donated gifts. Families then shop and choose gifts to suit the needs of their children. All proceeds from the stores are reinvested into the local community through educational grants, scholarships, and donations to community partners who serve at-risk families.

In a few weeks, we are going gather for a service to pray for our students, and consider how God is always sending us back to school spiritually speaking.
