Tip #1: Get CLOSE to God!
Are you the parents who choose to sit in the WAAAYYY back at church each week with your children? Thinking if you are in the back no one will “notice” your children when they start to get fussy, ask for snacks, ask when it’s time to go home or spill their toys everywhere? If so, please read with an open-mind!
This past week I had the opportunity to teach the children of BaseCamp, our children’s ministry, the story of Noah. While many churches may consider the training of our children ancillary to their main focus, for us at Waypoint, these children are also a large part of our mission.
We say that our mission is to train, equip and send people to share the gospel in their places of influence. BaseCamp is a great training ground, not only for the children but also for you. Read more
As I drove to church last Sunday with my car full of my own kids, I felt burdened and frustrated about having to serve in BaseCamp with other families’ children. Selfishly, I wanted to attend the service and be free of childcare duties for one hour.
But, God slowly changed by heart. I became more enthusiastic when a new family brought their daughter to join us. It made it feel like I was doing something that mattered. Then, God helped me to see that each opportunity I have to be with children—whether my own or someone else’s—is an opportunity to make an impact for Him.
